Temecula Sister City Association
Welcome! Our organization was established in 1992 to bridge the Temecula community with our Sister Cities, Leidschendam-Voorburg in The Netherlands and Nakayama-Daisen in Japan. Temecula has exchanges involving students, city council members, law enforcement officers, parents, business leaders with our Sister Cities, opening the door to new horizons.
Our Mission is:
To encourage the understanding of each other as individuals
and as members of the family of nations. Our mission is achieved by
facilitating cultural, academic and vocational exchanges that bridge
the community of Temecula and our sister cities to enrich business
relationships and friendships, and foster mutual respect.
Here in Temecula, we bring a slice of the world to you through our annual "Dutch American Heritage Day" Celebration providing the community with the tastes, sights and sounds of the Dutch culture. In 2003, we launched our newest annual event, "The Children's Matsuri," to bring Japanese culture and fun to Southern California's kids. Don't miss this year's contest for children and families.

Stop by the Temecula Duck Pond on the corner of Ynez Road and Rancho California to see the beautiful life-size statue called "Singing in the Rain." On September 11, 2002, the citizens of Leidschendam-Voorburg presented us this gift and city officials unveiled it to the Temecula community. The statue is a tribute to the strength and determination shown by Americans in response to the horrific events of September 11, 2001. As a result of this wonderful program, Temecula Sister City Association has been awarded the "Municipal Cooperation 2003 Award" from Sister City International.
On November 19th, 1994, the City of Temecula hosted the Japanese Garden Dedication Ceremony at the Temecula Duck Pond. The City, along with Temeculas Sister City Association, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of our sister city relationship with Nakayama, Japan.
We're
making the world a little bit friendlier... smaller... happier...one relationship
at a time.

I hosted a Japanese student early in the summer and grew to love the Japanese people. After learning more and more from This I feel the same towards the Dutch people. What a great program. I only wish we had more sister cities so we could learn about more cultures and countries. It's a great learning experience for my family. - Julie Bishop,
